If you are really passionate about Archaeology and want to discover secret and unusual archaeological sites of Sicily, feeling the course of History inside you and enjoying a stunning view on the landscape around you… That's your tour! Himera was a Greek colony built on a flat plateau stretching over the Thyrrenian Sea. It was the homeland of the ancient Greek poet Stesichorus and the place of the famous battle between Greeks and Carthaginians in 480 BC. The Temple of Victory still stands at the edge of the ancient city. The small Museum offers to visitors an interesting selection of fascinating objects, painted vases and decorative elements from the daily life of the ancient city. The tour lasts 2 hours, then we will reach Solunto by a short drive of 30 minutes. Solunto was a Punic city built on a cape overhanging the sea during the Hellenistic times. A wide and paved road will lead you in the public centre of the city, bordered by porticoes, painted houses and various buildings for religious and political functions. In the middle of the city, the well-preserved theatre will delights you. The tour lasts 2 hours.
